Founder of CULTRO, Amy Newton, was born in South London, UK and has been an NYC native for the last 8 years. With a Jamaican, Irish and Nigerian heritage, she has always celebrated the spirit of diverse cultures and -being a born and bred city girl, wanted to bring those aspects together.
Amy majored in Graphic Design from the University Of Essex in 2002. She went on to be a Graphic Designer for a short while, then switched career paths and went into Advertising Sales. In 2011, her desire to work, again, in a creative field was overwhelming so she decided to attend New York’s Fashion Institute and expand her talents into another one of her passions, Fashion Design.
