Today I want to talk you of a designer who has surprised me pleasantly for her unique and original creations which combines perfectly the provocation and feminine sensuality with the elegance and sophistication, she is Amalia Pacheco, after a break of four years, she returns to delight us with her wonderful designs. Born in Mérida (Badajoz), self-taught, with just 16 years old she started to design her own clothes, since she wanted to dress and feel different.
Amalia studied industrial pattern designing and she fell in love with the corsets and line of Madonna and Jean Paul Gaultier and from there she began to develop her career as a corsetière and she did two collections per year, leaving her hometown when she was twenty years old and settling in Madrid chasing her dreams, starting to sell her collections on the street market until have her own business.
Reviewing her career, I was very surprised cause she has designed costumes for somes plays, series, movies, and she has collaborated with different magazines like Elle, Cosmopolitan, Ragazza and Man. Prestigious actresses has wear her designs in different events , like Maria Valverde or the Galician actress Alba Messa and the ex Miss Spain Verónica Hidalgo, among others.
Amalia Just presented her new collection “Light” where she is inspired by the essence of women, the female elegance and sexy that no woman should hide, with a retro air that revives the myth of Doce Vita and the fifty and sixty period.
A versatile fashion designer, whose hobbie is the illustration, and I can assure you that she does it very well.
Her secret dream is to present one of her collections in the Roman theater of Mérida, her hometown, and I hope to be there to enjoy the catwalk and support her, because I assure you it’s worth seeing her work, she is a great professional , and a close woman , very hardworking and tenacious.
